Home Sewn Homespun Skirt with Patina
Home Sewn Homespun Skirt with Patina
This is a wearable relic from a slower time and place where clothing was made at home by hand and meant to last, mended and repaired to keep it going. The color of the homespun fabric is an exquisite powder blue, darkened in some areas from signs of daily wear and a life of hard work, and faded in others. Having been washed by hand and line dried, the fabric retains its sturdiness and, although there are multiple mends, repairs, and some scattered holes, this is an entirely wearable garment.
Entirely hand sewn, a single button in a hand finished button hole secures it at the back of the waist.
Condition: As noted and shown in the images, this skirt has mends, repairs, holes, discoloration, fading and other signs of heavy wear.
Measurements taken flat:
Waist 18"
Length 32"
Please note: Antique and early vintage items have imperfections and wear throughout, as would be expected with their age and use.
