Made in West End, North Carolina, circa 1940s this Tree of Life quilt features an vibrant palette of color and pattern. The back is home dyed indigo cotton muslin or feedsack. The corners are rounded. This quilt is soft and meant to be used, and it's spectacular enough to hang on a wall.
What we know about the maker through her family: she was prolific, didn't make quilts for sale, and often quilted with a group of friends.
Condition: Very good for its age and use. Expected minor scattered discoloration and light wear throughout. There is fading especially along the fold lines on the back.
